Three Rivers Classic

Individual registrations are now being taken for the Three Rivers Classic and JOAD Tournament, held at Crowfoot Sportsmen in March 14th. Youth AND adults can shoot together, which makes this a fun event. To participate, you need to register and pay yourselves. Details:

Where: Crowfoot Sportsmen’s Club 4997 Crowfoot Road Murrysville, PA

When: Saturday, March 14, 2020 8:30 AM / 12:00 PM / 3:30 PM / 7:00 PM For archers of all ages, First grade and up. FITA Adult Categories, too.

Fees: $12.00 per shooter; $25.00 per family of 3 or more.

AWARDS:

  • FITA 600 round – 3 places in each division (male, female, recurve, compound).
  • JOAD Indoor – 3 places in each merit class (recurve, compound). Genders combined.
  • Four places will be awarded in any division at 15 participants and another place for every additional 10 participants after that.
  • Under 18 – JOAD merit divisions awarded only. Open to all.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE: March 10, 2020
USA Archery Dress Code Applies for JOAD participants. USAA membership NOT required, but follow USAA equipment rules.

State Tournament April 4th

Several announcements regarding upcoming tournaments:

The Fox Township JOAD Tournament has been announced, details are in this flyer. Archers interested in shooting this tournament should contact Fox Twp JOAD and self-register. This tournament will be on February 8th at Fox Township Sportsman’s Club, 203 Ridge Rd., Kersey, PA 15846.

North Side Sportsmen Association (NSSA) has slightly revised the times for their JOAD tournament on Feb 29/Mar 1. There are now two lines on Sunday — one at 9:30 and one at 1:00. Anyone who chose a Sunday line option on our signup sheet is now shown on the 9:30 line. You are welcome to change to — or additionally add — the 1:00 line. Go to the tournament signup page to make the change.

The 50th ANNUAL PENNSYLVANIA J.O.A.D. STATE INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIP will be Saturday, April 4th at the State Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg, PA. The cost is $45 per archers, a bit higher this year because they are doing some special stuff for the archers since this is the 50th anniversary. This tournament is the pinnacle of the indoor JOAD season for most of our archers, and I encourage you attend it if you can. This is a self-registered tournament.

Falcon JOAD will reserve a block of rooms at a hotel in Harrisburg, so that we can all be together. We’ll have more information on that coming soon.

Also note that the PSAA State Indoor Tournament runs at the same time – April 4&5, at the same venue. Parents who shoot may want to consider attending that shoot, and making a full weekend of it.

Falcon JOAD Tournament

The tournament hosted by Falcon JOAD is scheduled for the weekend of January 17, 18, and 19. Our Falcon archers will shoot on Friday night (Jan 17th) at 6:30. We will have pizza at the club so they can eat before they shoot. Please do your best to be at the club by 6:00 so we can begin on time.

All archers need to bring a food donation for the shoot. The signup sheet for food donations is linked here (or you can get to it from the “Signups” tab in the Website.) Remember if you have two archers, please sign up for two items.

The signup sheet for Tournament Jobs is linked here (or you can get it from the “Current Year” tab in the Website). Choose a box and enter your name. The “50/50 tickets” job is for YOUTH members, aka the archers. All families are required to have at least one person work one of the other jobs on the sheet.

Holiday Party Dec. 21st

Our annual JOAD Holiday Party will be on December 21st. Here’s what you want to know!

  • Practice will start at 9:00 as usual (so be there at 8:30 to set up your gear)
  • After a few ends of practice, we’ll have some outrageously fun archery games!
  • Kitchen items will be FREE, and everyone is encouraged to bring something to share. JOAD is buying the drinks.
  • Use the Kitchen Signups page to let others know what you will bring. That way we don’t end up with 24 fruitcakes.
